The new Bread is now available on Android

Nov 21, 2017

In September, breadwallet became Bread with the launch of our redesign on iOS. Our customers have told us how much they love the new Bread experience, and we’ve been eager to bring these benefits to all of our Android customers as well. The new Android app includes transaction memos, economy fee selector, support center, and all of the other new features that launched with our redesign.

The new Bread is rolling out on the Google Play Store starting today. In the US, new customers will be able to immediately buy bitcoin with their bank accounts, and existing customers will see this feature roll out to their devices over the next week.

At Bread, we love to hear from our customers. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us on Twitter @breadapp or send an email to [email protected] to let us know what you think of the new design!

The new update will be rolled out slowly, with more and more users able to see the update over the next day or two. Please note that once you see the update, updating your Android app will replace your current “breadwallet” app with “Bread.” Everything, including your balance and transaction history will remain available, and your passcode and paper key will remain the same. Remember to write down your paper key if you haven’t already.

We’d like to issue a special thank you to our beta testers, without whom we couldn’t provide the reliable and consistent performance our customers expect. Our Android app is almost completely rewritten, with hundreds of bug fixes and improvements implemented, and support for additional devices.
